Job Description:

We're partnering with a successful and growing construction business that is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. You'll be involved in a range of transactional finance duties, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and month-end support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career, with study support available for AAT.

• Processing supplier invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger.
• Raising sales invoices and supporting credit control activities where required.
• Assisting with supplier payments and weekly payment runs.
• Reconciling bank accounts and investigating any discrepancies.
• Processing and reconciling company credit card transactions.
• Supporting month-end activities, including reconciliations and reporting preparation.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring information is entered correctly into the finance system.
• Assisting with supplier and customer account queries.
• Supporting the wider finance team with administrative and ad-hoc tasks.
• Helping to improve processes and maintain strong financial controls.

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger position.
• Ideally studying towards AAT qualification.
• Good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and general finance processes.
• Experience processing high volumes of financial transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Competent Excel skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
• Experience using Sage 200 or a similar accounting system would be advantageous.
