We're supporting a leading manufacturing business in Fareham who are looking for an Assembler to join their Test Department on a permanent day shift.

Offering a salary of £29,000 per annum, this is a great opportunity for someone with practical assembly experience who enjoys working within a quality-focused engineering environment.

What's the role all about?

As an Assembler within the Test Department, you'll be responsible for assembling components and products ready for testing, ensuring everything is completed accurately and to the required quality standards.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Test, Production and Quality, following engineering instructions and established processes to ensure products are assembled correctly and ready for the next stage of manufacture.

This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, quality and following processes accurately are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble components and products in accordance with engineering and manufacturing instructions
• Prepare products and assemblies for testing
• Carry out mechanical assembly using a variety of hand tools and equipment
• Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and manufacturing documentation
• Ensure components are assembled correctly and to the required specification
• Carry out basic visual and dimensional checks
• Identify and report defects or issues during the assembly process
• Complete relevant production and quality documentation accurately
• Work closely with Test, Production and Quality teams
• Maintain excellent standards of quality and workmanship
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who ideally has:

• Previous assembly or manufacturing experience
• Experience within an engineering, production or manufacturing environment
• Good practical and mechanical skills
• Confidence using hand tools
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
• Good attention to detail
• A quality-focused approach to work
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Experience working from engineering drawings or technical instructions would be particularly beneficial.
