Job Description:

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision instrumentation and sensors for a variety of industries, are looking for a Buyer based in Lymington to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an office-based role supporting the Purchasing Department, ensuring the timely flow of materials to meet production requirements and supporting new product enquiries.

Key responsibilities of the Buyer job based in Lymington:

• Raise purchase orders using the company's ERP system, SYSPRO.
• Ensure order acknowledgements are received and meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement and inventory data.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, savings and favourable commercial terms.
• Manage supplier performance, risk and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning and Engineering teams.
• Support KPI, supplier performance and continuous improvement activities.

Experience required for the Buyer job based in Lymington:

• Minimum of 2 years' procurement/purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing.
• Experience of direct and/or indirect purchasing.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to meet operational and commercial targets.
• Highly organised, resilient and able to work well under pressure.

Desirable experience for the Buyer job based in Lymington:

• Experience using SYSPRO ERP.
• Ability to read and understand basic 2D technical drawings.
• Mechanical knowledge.
• Experience working with product development teams and component selection.
