Site Manager - Internals
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £250 - £280 per day

The Opportunity
A well-established and growing construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Internals Manager to join their team on a major high-rise residential development in the Southampton area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced internal works professional who has developed their career from a trade background and progressed into site management. The ideal candidate will have started their career on the tools as a fixer or similar, before progressing through supervisory and management positions.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working for a principal contractor or residential developer, with a strong understanding of managing internal works across large-scale residential developments.

The Role:
As Internals Manager, you will take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of internal works across the development, working closely with the wider site and project management teams.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating internal works across the development.
• Supervising subcontractors, trades and site teams.
• Planning and monitoring works against the project programme.
• Coordinating multiple internal trades and ensuring efficient sequencing of works.
• Monitoring productivity, progress and quality.
• Liaising with the principal contractor, project management team and subcontractors.
• Identifying and resolving site issues and keeping works on programme.
• Ensuring works are completed to the required specification and quality standards.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the internal works.
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project through to completion.

About You:

• Previous experience as an Internals Manager, Finishing Manager, Construction Manager, Site Manager or similar.
• Strong experience managing internal works on large-scale residential developments, ideally high-rise.
• Ideally, experience working for a principal contractor or residential developer.
• A strong understanding of internal construction and finishing packages.
• A trade background, ideally having started as a fixer/on-the-tools before progressing into management.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, labour and multiple trades.
• Strong programme, quality and productivity awareness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to site management.
