The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a £200,000 commercial office fit-out project in Southampton.

This is a four-week contract position, starting on Monday 14th September, and would suit a hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

You will be the main point of contact on site, coordinating subcontractors, managing site activities and maintaining a high standard of health & safety throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site trades.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with the programme and agreed specifications.
• Coordinate site activities to ensure the project remains on schedule.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, materials and access.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure the site remains safe, clean and organised.
• Brief and coordinate subcontractors and site personnel.
• Ensure all RAMS, permits and relevant site documentation are in place and adhered to.
• Carry out toolbox talks and site inductions where required.
• Monitor and enforce health & safety procedures.
• Liaise with the project management team, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve issues quickly to prevent delays.
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries and relevant documentation.
• Assist with snagging and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
• Drive the project through to successful completion and handover.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Site Manager / No.1 Site Manager.
• Strong experience within commercial office fit-out / refurbishment.
• Previous experience managing projects of a similar nature and value.
• SMSTS – essential.
• First Aid – essential.
• Asbestos Awareness – essential.
• Fire Marshal – essential.
• Strong understanding of site health & safety requirements.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple site activities effectively.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the site.
• Right to work in the UK.
