SEN Teaching Assistant - Southampton

SEN Teaching Assistant | Southampton | ASAP Start | SEN Schools | Full-Time

Academics are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants in Southampton to work in specialist SEN schools supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, complex needs and challenging behaviours.

These are rewarding roles where you'll play an important part in helping pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage with their education.

Who we're looking for

You may have:

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or working in an SEN school
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health or social care
• Experience working in care or support settings
• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, ADHD or challenging behaviour
• First-hand experience of SEN or caring for someone with additional needs
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Formal SEN qualifications are not essential if you have strong, relevant experience.

• Specialist SEN schools across Southampton
• Supporting pupils from Nursery through to Year 6
• Working with children with ASD, ADHD, complex needs and challenging behaviours
• Full-time opportunities preferred to provide consistency and stability for pupils
• ASAP starts available

An Enhanced DBS is required, or you must be willing to apply for one.
